100+ Year Old Set of 5 Clubs Hickory Shaft Hillerich & Bradsby and Spalding

Description: 100+ Year Old Set of 5 Clubs Hickory Shaft Hillerich & Bradsby and Spalding. Four of the clubs are Hillerich & Bradsby and one club from Spalding. The Hillerich and Bradsby clubs all have cork grips and are stamped "Made by Hillerich & Bradsby Co, Louisville KY, Cork Grip, Sep 15 1914" The Spalding club is the putter and has a hickory shaft and a taped grip. It does not have a date stamped on it. All of the cork grips are in very good condition and all have butt caps. The heads are all tight on the shafts. The Spalding does not have a butt cap on it. Also, on the Driver, there is a chip missing from the head that you can see in the last picture. According to "Antique Golf Collectibles" by Pete Georiady, Hillerich & Bradsby started producing golf clubs in 1916 but these clubs (Except the Spalding) are stamped Sep 15 1914. Hillerich & Bradsby announced in August 1916 that the factory would start producing golf clubs "After more than a year spent in experiments". I believe that these clubs are some of those used to experiment with, prototypes so to speak, to test out before the production run. I could not find any information on the Spalding putter to verify its age. Best guess on this is that it is around the same period as the other clubs. I also have the Hillerich & Bradsby stove pipe golf bag that all of these clubs came it. The leather is coming apart which is to be expected for leather being over 100 years old.
