Because The Botanical Cabinet was published in 20 parts from 1817 - 1833, and the prints are not individually dated in the plate, the latest possible date of publication is used in dating this lot. About the work - The Botanical Cabinet - Consisting of Colored Delineations of Plants from all Countries, was published as a business catalog for the Nursery of Conrad Loddiges & Sons in Hackney, London. The publication ran from 1817 - 1833, and illustrated nearly 2000 specimens, many of which were cultivated in the Loddiges hot houses. The prints from this work are copper plate engravings with original hand coloring. The paper size is approximately 6.25 x 8 inches and is fairly uniform. Condition notes for this listing - Print is in good condition on lightly toned paper. As the print is an antique you can expect some imperfections consistent with age and handling.
