Description: Original 1840s sixth-plate (1/6) daguerreotype portrait of a pretty woman with expressive eyes. She is wearing a wonderful dress, and next to her on the table she has set her bonnet and a parasol. In her hand she is holding an open daguerreotype photo. Full case is about 3.75" x 3.25" when closed. Very good antique condition. There is a light coating of tarnish over the plate, but no major issues.... there might be a couple of tiny mat abrasions, but under magnification I cannot tell positively. I think it's possible that they are very old abrasions... old enough to have tarnished over. Old, maybe original, paper seals. The case has light to normal wear and the halves are separated along the spine. Boxed & insured Priority Mail.
