Description: 1849 $5.00 MORMON GOLD PIECE - SOUVENIER HISTORICAL MONEY THIS IS A SOUVENIER OF THE 1849 MORMON GOLD COIN 24 K GOLD-PLATED. MEASURES 1 INCH IN DIAMETER. It is 24 Karat gold-plated. On the obverse is the all-seeing eye of Jehovah capped by a three-pointed Phrygian crown, and "Holiness to the Lord". On the reverse is the denomination five dollars, 2 clasped hands, S.L.C.P.G. = Great Salt Lake City Pure Gold and the date. Mint condition. The original was made by the Deseret Mint, 1849 in Salt Lake City, Utah and authorized by Brigham Young, prophet of the LDS Church.
