Description: 1859 Indian Head cent, authenticated / graded / encapsulated by PCGS at MS-62. As an 1859 Indian Head (Liberty) cent, this is the series first year specimen, one-year type (as the US shield was added to the reverse the next year), the first of the small cents but with thicker, copper-nickel composition, from Antebellum of 1859 through the Civil War years; collectible of this bygone series of small cents; and so the 1859 Indian Head cent is highly popular with collectors. We have a few for sale; but this one is select Uncirculated, authenticated at its MS-62 grade, and even so is much more. Its original Mint lustre and toning from the century past is such that we photographed it "off the table" so you could see its brilliance - which is remarkable for something not silver nor gold. The PCGS encapsulation is your assurance that it is a solid MS-62, but as such, it is a regrade for an upgrade opportunity, based on what we have seen elsewhere on the market for this coin. It's superb and we are happy if you even just look over its photos. We offer free and secured shipping for this highly collectible specimen!
