Description: I have here for sale a book entitled A NATURALIST'S VOYAGE JOURNAL OF RESEARCHES INTO THE NATURAL HISTORY AND GEOLOGY of the Countries visited during the Voyage of H.M.S. 'Beagle' round the World under the Command of Capt Fitzroy, by Charles Darwin. Published in 1889 by John Murray. It has a frontispiece portrait of Darwin and 5 in-text illustrations. Dark green cloth hardboards with a gilt illustration to the front board and gilt lettering to the spine. Small split in the cloth to the top of the front and rear hinges. Head and tail of spine and corners slightly bumped. Two page have tears which have been repaired with sellotape which has now yellowed with age. There are a few pencil marks in the margins where someone has highlighted paragraphs of particular interest. Pages a little sunned but pretty clean. Binding firm. 519 pages. Condition: very good. 20 x 13 cm.
