Description: 1912 $5 gold Half Eagle authenticated / graded / encapsulated by NGC as MS 61. One of the scarce Indian Head series, and hard to find in Uncirculated condition, as the public did not think of saving these until later - but you can acquire this one! This specimen is orange-gold in color, with some light toning on each side that adds to its pleasing look. It has been freshly re-encapsulated at NGC. This specimen - large at five dollars in gold was in those pre-1933 coinage times - showcases the better-than-average strike for 1912, and has a mysterious and tiny raised rim on the obverse left side from 6 to 12 o' clock. 1912 is a good year for a representative type sample - in what historians call an Age of Innocence before the big changes yet to come in the 20th century! This is more than 110 years later, but we offer this symbolic specimen for you now. (with free shipping)
