Description: For offer, a 1935 sterling silver cruet set, made by 'Mappin & Webb', complete with it's original cobalt blue glass liners to the salt and mustard pot and it's presentation case. Consisting of a Pepperette, open salt & salt spoon, and lidded mustard pot & spoon. Hallmarked for the Birmingham assay office, year date letter of an uppercase "L" for 1935 and maker's marks and named for 'Mappin & Webb' to all three main pieces. The Mustard spoon is hallmarked for the Sheffield assay office, with the year date letter being a lowercase "x" for 1940, and also a 'Mappin & Webb' piece, a later replacement perhaps. The salt spoon is hallmarked for the Birmingham assay office, with the year date letter of an uppercase "L" for 1935 too, but is an 'Adie Brothers' example. All pieces are in superb condition, with some light signs/dings from age and usage, the hallmarks are clear, and the glass liners are free from any damage or chips, the case in excellent condition with both the hinges and catch fully working.
