Description: 1960s VIC CANTONE CARTOONIST Original Artwork Mockup for "The Sea Circus" Book. All original. Measures 9x12" on heavy cardstock paper. You can see where it was lightly drawn in pencil and then filled in over. Has the artist stamp in bottom left corner. This is a mockup page for the book The Sea Circus which was published in 1969. VIC CANTONE was political cartoonist listed in the Who's Who In American Art. Prior to being on staff at the New York Daily News (19591991), Mr. Cantone was with Newsday (1954-1959) as Newsroom Cartoonist and Courtroom Artist. His award winning art can be found in major publications such as Time magazine and the Washington Post, as well as two published books, "Topo The Mouse" and "The Sea Circus." Condition is very nice for its age. Does have some light marks from being older and a line across the top which looks like a mark leftover from possibly old tape that may have been applied and then removed years ago.
