An amazing example of a low miles, rust free, original paint car that is all business. Overview: Starting off with a low millage car, this rust free ’64 Fairlane still has its original paint. The car has 16,100 miles, the engine, transmission and the build itself has 853 miles. Always stored in a climate controlled southern environment with no accidents, corrosion or repairs, made this Fairlane the perfect blank canvas our dream. Below I will go through the condition and details of the car! Body: 1964 Fairlane post car was desired. As a regular Fairlane, not a 500, it’s unique in the fact that this is not a Thunderbolt clone or tribute, just a cool Fairlane post car with a 427 FE. The body is original with no paint work or restoration. All the trim, indicators, bumper and glass are original. It is rust free and really straight! The engine bay was professionally modified to accept the FE engine using the Crites install. A Crites tear-drop hood was used and painted to match the original cars patina. Underside: All the suspension is fully unified together front to rear using DOM tubing and adjustable Heim joints on the rear end. The car is VERY RIGID. A nice solid ride on the road makes this car a comfort and blast to drive. At the track, it hooks and lifts the front end with ease. The floors, rockers and original parts are all rust free and in spectacular shape! Interior: The red interior is all fresh, the headliner is still original and very nice. Fixed front bucket seats, found in a typical lightweight Ford, are restored and fresh. These are the same style found in a Thunderbolt or a lightweight Galaxie 500. The floor mat is rubber, door panels are fresh, as is all the red paint. All the doors and windows function like new. The gauges and interior lights work perfectly. This car is all business. No radio or heater. Just you and your car living in hotrod harmony with the road or racetrack. The factory 64 Ford gauges are functional but complemented by Autometer Tachometer, temp, oil pressure and voltage gauge. And of course, line lock! Mechanical: Electrical: All brand new wiring, 100% of it. Engine: So, let’s get into the soul of this car - the engine trans and rearend. A 1966 427 FE is now boasting cubic inches of 482”. A scat 4.25” stroker kit was installed using JE forged pistons. Static compression ratio is 12.28:1. The top end is Ford Cobra Jet heads with a Holman Moody 2x4 intake, roller rockers and hardened pushrods. A solid Bullet Cam with the best of both track and street traits is .647 Lift I/E with Duration at 292(I) and 301(E) advertised, 259(I) and 267(E) @.050. The engine was professionally blueprinted and built. Dual Holley 4160s and custom curved ignition help the 482” push out a reliable 549HP and 566TQ. This is a very powerful, yet street-able engine. The top end is relatively stock so with some porting and port matching, there is a lot left on the table to gain. With a good intake port match and some work on the heads, this engine will be north of 600HP with no problem. There is enough compression and cam to support 600-650 HP. Damper and flywheel are SFI approved. Transmission: Tremec TKX 5 speed. QuickTime Pro SFI approved bellhousing/scatter shield. Dave Willams hardened yolk, DOM tube drive shaft and a safety driveshaft loop. Centerforce clutch. Rear End: Curry 9” rear end, Moser 31 spline axles, 4.11:1, Curry locker (trutrack style, so can be used with ease on the street or track). Brakes: Dual master, front disks. All new stainless steel lines. Summary: This is a solid, pro-built car with super low miles on the body. Everything works. You can go to the track and get your 11 second pass or jump on the highway and cruise at 80 MPH. Please view the pictures, ask questions or set up an appointment to inspect the car. Disclosure: Sold as is. The buyer is responsible for transportation after the sale or any associated fees. All payment must clear before the car leaves. Even bank checks and wires.
