Description: What is special about this spinning wheel is that the original makers tax is still attached with iron tacks. It was made by Frank Fell Sr. (1865-1935). He is a well known maker and well respected for some innovations as well as quality workmanship. I don't have a date for this one but the tag appears quite old and that was made by Dennison Mf. Co. which started in 1844. My best guess is 1890's to 1920 when Frank was between 25 and 55 years old. So this is over 100 years old. He did continue to make spinning wheels and his son followed in his footsteps. Frank's shop was called Mayville Spinning Wheel which was continued by his son. This might have been the oldest spinning wheel company. I really don't know but the tacks that hold the label on are very old and are irregular which would date them to pre 1900. By the way the tag or label, Dennison Mf. Co. (note the circle on the tag) is the company that later became Avery Dennison in 1935. The original company began in 1844 but this tag is later but still the earlier Dennison Mf. Co. I am not an expert in this field but I've done some research. I'm estimating shipping at $35.
