2009 AUSTRIAN PHILHARMONIC 1 oz 999 fine Silver Uncirculated Coin Round HOT!

Description: In Stock and Ready for Immediate ShipmentSOLD OUT at the Austrian Mint! The melodious Philharmonic, the first Euro, pure silver bullion coin in the world! The 2009 Philharmonic 1 Oz Silver issue is notorious for spotting. Some milk spots may OR may not be present on these coins. That being said, these are some of the finest examples that I have seen of these coins in this year. In 2008 Austria announced the release of a brand new silver bullion coin - the pure silver Vienna Philharmonic! This is the first silver bullion coin ever with a face value in euros! The obverse features the famous Great Pipe Organ of the Musikverein, while the reverse features a bouquet of orchestra instruments, all rendered in amazing detail! Why the Vienna Philharmonic is a Great Way to Own Silver • It is the very first euro denominated silver bullion coin ever issued! • The silver Austrian Philharmonic is minted in pure silver! • The design is intricate, beautiful, and distinctly European in refinement! The Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra The Vienna Philharmonic (die Wiener Philharmoniker) was founded in 1842. It was recently named as the best orchestra in all of Europe, and is widely considered one of the finest in the world. Their distinctive sound can be attributed to the use of instruments and playing styles that are fundamentally different than those used by other major orchestras. The Vienna Philharmonic's repertoire is among the largest of any orchestra, though they are perhaps best known for their renditions of Strauss pieces, the composing family with whom the orchestra is most closely associated in the public's mind. Tickets are notoriously hard to come by - there is a thirteen year waiting list for weekend season tickets (but only a six year wait for weeknight subscriptions)! The Musikverein The home of the Vienna Philharmonic is the Musikverein. This magnificent concert hall opened in Vienna, Austria in 1870, and is famous the world over for its acoustics. It is considered to be one of the three finest symphony halls in the world, along with Boston's Symphony Hall and Amsterdam's Concertgebouw. The largest concert hall in the Musikverein is the Grosser Musikvereinsaal, known more simply as the Golden Hall (or Goldener Saal). This opulent venue measures 156 feet long, 62 feet wide, and 58 feet high. It has 1,744 seats and and additional standing room capacity for 300 more. Every year on January 1st, the Vienna New Year's Say Concert is held here. The massive organ at the front of the Golden Hall, one of the signatures of the Vienna Philharmonic, was installed by the Austrian firm of Rieger in 1907. Obverse: A highly-detailed depiction of the the Great Pipe Organ of the Vienna Philharmonic, one of the most complex musical instruments in the world. The legend, "1 UNZE FEINSILBER" guarantees the weight and purity. The denomination and REPUBLIK OSTERREICH ("Republic of Austria") are also indicated. Reverse: A well-orchestrated arrangement (lol) of symphony instruments, including a French horn, bassoon, harp, cello, two violins, and two violas. Along the upper rim is the legend WIENER PHILHARMONIKER ("Vienna Philharmonic") and in very small letters, SILBER ("Silver").
