This auction is for: 21 VINTAGE& ANTIQUE NEW OLD STOCK GRUEN GENTS CROWNS YELLOW & WHITE - NOS Learn More: This is a lot of mens vintage and antique Gruen watch crownsThey are genuine authentic factory parts with 11 in original factory packaging and 10 loose ones - The crowns in factory packages are extra helpful to the collector or watchmaker because the part numbers are on the envelopes.Some are "white" and some are "yellow" (silver and gold colored]These are extremely old-fashioned in the sense that Gruen was on the cutting edge of developing water resistant watch casesSome of these crowns have leather o-rings. Some of them have a slot under the crown that screws down in order to squish out the gasket material so it fits closer to the tube.These were made before the heavy use of plastics was introduced so materials like rubber and leather were used. Some of these have a male post in the crown that looks to be about tap 10 and are NEEDED for watch models that use split stems, but most of them seem to have the traditional type of water resistant gaskets. All are gold filled in the oldest sense of the word. That is, a sheet of gold is stamped into the shape of a crown.
