This printed placard has printed words RITA HAYWORTH & SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION which was the working title under which the motion picture was shot. The artwork shows prison towers and a barbed wire covered prison with barred windows. Printed in black, red, and white. Striking and appealing. Very few of these have survived therefore an exceptionally rare piece of printed material dealing with the classic film. The placard measures 5 1/4 inches wide by 13 1/4 inches long. It is handsome framed and matted under glass to 9 inches wide by 17 1/2 inches long. The Shawshank Redemption is a 1994 released American drama film, which has achieved classic status, written and directed by Frank Darabont, based on the 1982 Stephen King novella Rita Hayworth and Shawshank Redemption. It tells the story of banker Andy Dufresne (Tim Robbins), who is sentenced to life in Shawshank State Penitentiary for the murders of his wife and her lover, despite his claims of innocence. Over the following two decades, he befriends a fellow prisoner, contraband smuggler Ellis "Red" Redding (Morgan Freeman), and becomes instrumental in a money-laundering operation led by the prison warden Samuel Norton (Bob Gunton). William Sadler, Clancy Brown, Gil Bellows, and James Whitmore appear in supporting roles.
