This is a girl in her apron and sweet bonnet, basket in hand feeding the chickens at her feet. The figure is 6.5" tall. Such a beautifully detailed piece as are all Sarah Kay designs. Sarah Kay is known all over the world, started work at an advertising agency, and began to draw and design happy children in peaceful environments. She sold her drawings to greeting card publishers and her designs are now translated into wooden figurines by sculptor Ulrich Bernardi. Ideal as a Christmas gift for collectors. RARE. SWEET. Originally 440 Euros (about $440) when new! Anri Woodcarvings began over 100 years ago by Anton Riffeser. His family began carving in the 1600's. ANRI was started in 1912. "The artisans of ANRI are, in many cases, descendants of several generations of wood carvers, all of whom take great personal pride in their work."
