ANTIQUE c1840 TEA CADDY MAHOGANY BOXWOOD 3 COMPT LATE GEORGIAN VICTORIAN All in very good condition. A late Georgian early Victorian 3 compartment tea caddy circa 1840. Externally in mahogany with boxwood stringing / inlays and of sculpted / waisted sarcophagus form. It has nice brass fruit basket design carrying / decorative handles to the sides and a shield form lock escutcheon, with its early key working well in the lock, locking and opening again the box as originally intended. The box is supported on four bun feet. Internally, as mentioned a three compartment tea caddy, with two compartments with lids either side for two types of tea with traces of the original lining material within. And in the centre its glass mixing bowl in excellent condition, fitting nicely. Measuring approx 11 1/2 x 5 3/4 x 6 3/4 inches high. The box has been given a coat of wax polish it looks lovely and as such is very presentable. ........all as per the images. ........all as per the images.
