Description: A highly detailed carved walnut architectural element (likely a pediment ) of two Female Saints, 17th or early 18th century and Italian or French in orgin. One Saint holds a palm leaf and the other a sword, possibly Saint Catherine, with a green man beneath and flanked by a foliate design. Wood is built in several sections, there are hand forged nails still present as seen from the back. It is in nice condition for age with a warm patina, some scattered losses, wear to figures, etc. Please see all photos for condition.
