Description: This small antique cast iron mantel clock by Western Clock Manufacturing (later known as Westclox) features a beautiful Art Nouveau style and is a true gem made in La Salle, Illinois. With a wind-up movement, this alarm clock is perfect for any room and adds a touch of antique charm to your home decor. The clock case is made of high-quality cast iron. The face of the movement features Roman numerals and is highlighted by the surrounding gold. It is a true original from the Edwardian era (1901-1910), patented in 1908 and was manufactured in the United States. Measuring 4 1/4 inches in length, 5 1/4 inches in height, and 2 1/2 inches in width, this mantel clock weighs 2 1/2 pounds and is a great addition to any collection of decorative collectibles. CONDITION: As found. Needs restoration. The bronze tone finish is splotchy. There are a few tea colored spots on the face. The decorative gold and the glass are in good condition. It is missing the knob to set the time and probably a lever to adjust the speed. I got it to run for a few minutes at a time, but don’t want to risk over winding it. The alarm which is wound and set separately seem to be working correctly. I am not an expert, so I may have missed something. As pictured. Please see photos. Questions happily answered.
