Description: Unique item, early 20th century, reclining cat pillow head rest. I was told that these were actually used to keep the spine aligned while sleeping. A production hole at the left side of the head allowed air to escape in order for the piece to maintain its shape once in the kiln. Often, hot or cold water was added to moderate temperature. The piece is in good shape, there is a surface crack by the production hole, it does not go all the way through.Other very minor kiln flaws, glazing separations, bumps, etc. Photos show condition, it's looking really good. Also, the piece is very sturdy and the colors are not faded. Lovely designs on the topside. Bottom has the remnants of the seal for exportation out of China.
