Description: Not manually hand signed. It is signed as part of the lithography. The lithography prints are a duplication of an original painting done by French painter and illustrator Bernard Buffet. Born 1928 and died 1999, many of Bernard's portraits were images of his own face, as well as this one is believed to be. His style was exclusively figurative and is often classified as Expressionist or "miserabilist". Lithographic print on canvas stretched and stapled to wooden art frame. This is true vintage art from the 50's as noted by the "55" right after the signature mark "Bernard". This item measures 28 inches high x 22 inches wide x about one inch thick. There are a few minor deviations on the front probably from storage, but not bad. See all pictures and I will attempt to point these areas out. This came from an estate sale that the original owners traveled a lot in Europe, especially France. There were many indications in the sale that they had interest in and most likely travel to France and other European countries.
