Description: From a Maine auction this summer, this ship's lantern dates to around 1900. It's strongly made and stands 17" tall with the swing handle upright, as shown in photos. It has its original, intact glass and its black paint is also in exceptionally good condition for its age and use. It's a heavy lantern (over 8 lbs.) and seems to be made of various metals -- iron for the handle, steel(?) for most of its body, but the back, reflective panel appears to be copper. Hearty and authentic, this ship's lantern creates a wonderful nautical atmosphere. 17" high 7" diameter base 8.2 lbs.
