Description: DIANA ROSS- 2 Hit Songs- Vintage Sheet Music from 1972 and 1981. "God Bless the Child," sung by Diana Ross in the 1972 film of "Lady Sings The Blues," was a big hit for Ross. Originally written by Billie Holiday and Arthur Herzog Jr., in 1942, Holiday's version of the song was honored by the Grammy Hall of Fame in 1976. It was included on a list of "Songs of the Century" by the National Endowment for the Arts. Diana Ross' version from the biographical movie of Holiday's life, became popular once again when the film was released in 1972. Ross' performance as Billie Holiday, would also win her an Oscar as Best Actress in 1973. "Endless Love" was written b Lionel Richie, and originally recorded as a duet with Richie and Diana Ross. The popular song was also recorded by Luther Vandross, Mariah Carey, Shania Trwain and Kenny Rogers. Billboard Magazine named Ross' and Richie's original version as the greatest song duet of all-time. After they did their version for Motown Records, Paramount Pictures used it as the them for Franco Zeffirelli's film adaptation of Scott Spencer's novel of "Endless Love." While the film wasn't a huge success, their version became the 2nd-biggest-selling single of the year. The song became the biggest single of Diana Ross' career---and Richie's highest-charted single as well. ABOUT THE SHEET MUSIC: Given their age, the sheet music for both is ACCEPTABLE. There is some tearing at the top and bottom of the seam, on the fold. At the top, it's about 1 inches and about 1/2 inch on the bottom.
