Peep Disk O.D. 7/16". :: Instructions for Assembling Krag Bolt Peep Sight (Original Copy) :: This krag bolt peep sight has been designed for the express purpose of giving the user of the krag rifle an inexpensive, efficient sight, which can be mounted quickly by anyone. it is made of the finest spring steel, is neatly finished and adds to the appearance of the arm. Because of its firm attachment and sturdy construction, it is not easily lost or broken. To mount the Krag Bolt Peep Sight- Disassemble the bolt and remove the pin which holds the extractor arm to the bolt sleeve. insert the threaded bolt which comes with the sight and secure sight to the end of the bolt by means of the included nut. Use a screwdriver for tightening the nut, also for working the bolt into the hole. To disassemble the Krag Bolt- Grasp the bolt handle in the laft hand and with the right hand pull back on the cocking piece, turning it to the left until it becomes disengaged from the shoulder on the bolt. Remove the bolt sleeve from the bolt. Compress the. spring and free the firing pin. Remove the cocking piece from the sleeve. To assemble reverse the process. iIn getting the sleeve over the shoulder of the bolt, place the end of the bolt on a solid surface and push forward on the rear of the safety catch and turn to the right. Some Krag bolts have more or less play in the receiver after they are locked in place. To remedy, shim up the slide in the receiver in which the cocking piece travels. With the Bolt free from play, the sight will always return to the same position when the bolt is locked. A piece of the hacksaw blade, ground to the proper width and thickness, makes an excellent shim. Because of the possibility of damage too, or the loss of parts from receiver sights, it is advisable that a spare sight should be caried while hunting. The Krag Bolt Peep Sight recommends itself for that purpose because of its simplicity of attachment and low cost. Price $1.00, postpaid.
