Description: English Sterling Silver Octagonal Tea Caddy. An early and Important form of caddy with a slide off cover, and fully hallmarked as it should be (See pictures). Attractively engraved with an overall foliate design and the initial "M" centered in the engraving. Hallmarked with the date letter for 1724 and the makers mark TF for Thomas Farren. Engraving of “M” monogram and rampant lion grasping olive branch crest, 4 1/2" high, 3 1/4" × 2 1/8", 5.38 ozt tw. Good condition.
