Description: 1900 HALLMARKED DUTCH REPOUSSE SILVER SMALL TEA CADDY Quality Netherlands box of graceful oval form with dome top, atypical figural scenes and robust hinge. The cover is worked with an elaborate scene depicting a musician standing on a barrel surrounded by figures seated at a table, dancers, a small dog, chickens, a fenced horse and a large barn with trees in a scrolling leafage border. Front, sides and rear wall are decorated with animated scenes of harvesters, cherubic figures, an odd(?) couple and a horse with row of spired buildings in the background. Hallmarked with Minerva head on cover apron, date letter "P" on front rim of box, unidentified maker's initials on left side of the rim, and (for export) key intersecting lion passant stamped at center of the base.
