Description: Germany 1933 LZ 127 Graf Zeppelin cover envelope from friedrichshafen germany to usa final delivery in milford connecticut. Franking includes FRIEDRICHSHAFEN postmark dated October 14, 1933. Red triangle shaped "LUFTSCHIFF GRAF ZEPPELIN" "50. Ozeanuberquerung" Zeppelin flight cachet. Stamped postmark on reverse from Correio Aereo date october 18, 1933. Some handling wear and light soiling to whites, edge wear. Still includes the letter inside the envelope, in german. While returning from Brazil in October 1933, Graf Zeppelin stopped at Miami and then in akron Ohio. The airship then appeared at the World's Fair in Chicago. The ship returned to Akron for two days, visited Canada, overflew the White House, then left for home with an overnight stop in Seville. The USPS issued a special 50-cent airmail stamp (C-18) for the visit, which was the fifth and final one the ship made to the US.
