Description: 2 Mark coin Germany 1994 waffle cancelled RARE Willy Brandt unusual When Germany accepted the Euro, old German coins then in use were withdrawn from circulation and demonetized. Demonetized coins were cancelled by waffling or cutting into fragments. The mutilated coins were then shipped to the USA for metal recovery. I offer a waffled 1994 2 mark coin of Germany which in 2003 made it to a factory in Wisconsin for recycling. I obtained it in late 2003. The underlying coin is virtually uncirculated, use photos to judge condition. Diameter a little more than 1 inch, 7.02 grams. This is a RARE and unusual item.
