With marbleized endpages on thick handmade paper and top edge gilt. Tight, sound and square, very clean, with a previous owner's bookplate on front pastedown endpage. Toning to page ends and some browned tissue guards as expected but a well cared-for copy. No markings to text, which is clean and free of signs of handling. No foxing. Scarce limitation of only 550 copies. Illustrated throughout with paintings and ink drawings behind tissue guards. A beautiful copy of an elaborate production.
