Description: DATING TO THE 1840’S - 1850’S FASHIONED OF A WHITE COTTON AND IS SEWN FULLY BY HAND WITH THE SLEEVES SET OFF THE SHOULDER WITH PIPED SEAMS AT THE TOP AND ARE FULL BISHOP STYLE WITH BANDS OF EMBROIDERY AROUND THE WRIST AND SCALLOP EDGE EYELET TRIMMING THE CUFFS. MATCHING BANDS OF EMBROIDERY EDGED WITH PIPING THAT HAVE RUCHING IN THE CENTER RUN ON THE HIGH FRONT WITH A ROUNDED COLLAR. POLISHED SHELL BUTTONS CLOSE ALL THE WAY DOWN THE FRONT. CONDITION: THE TOP BUTTON IS A REPLACEMENT AND IS PLASTIC AND I PERSONALLY WOULD REMOVE AND ADD A PERIOD BUTTON. ONE SMALL L SHAPED FRAYED HOLE IS JUST ASIDE THE FOURTH BUTTON FROM THE BOTTON ON THE RIGHT SIDE WITH A SMALL CLUSTER OF ERASER SIZED NIPPED HOLES ON THE BOTTOM LEFT SIDE SIX INCHES UP FROM THE HEM. JUDGING BY THE EDGE OF THE COLLAR, I SUSPECT THERE MAY HAVE BEEN A LACE FRILL OR AN EMBROIDERED COLLAR AT THE EDGE. THESE EARLY MORNING WRAPPERS ARE SO VERY HARD TO FIND, ESPECIALLY ONE THIS EARLY.
