Description: Being offered for your consideration is this large Oil on Canvas by Listed Artist M.P. Elliot (b.1948). This artwork depicts a tranquil landscape and rare hunt scene with horses, dogs and hunters surrounding a lake. The lake is landscaped with hills, trees and plant life in vivid shades of blues, greens and browns. The gentleman in the hunt party are dressed in attire of bright red and deep blue atop horses of white and brown. The large trees are delicately painted in shades of green, yellow and brown and tower over the hunters and surrounding landscape. The artwork is in beautiful condition with no repairs or areas of concern (see images) . The painting is mounted in its gorgeous original solid wood vintage frame. The cove frame has deep carved edging with a gold gilt inner frame and boasts its original dark walnut finish. The frame is in well cared for condition with some spotting and touch ups on the sides with a barely visible hairline in the cove section. It has strong tight corners with minimal vintage wear and a wonderful appearance (see images). The is a large piece measuring 46 1/8" wide, 36" tall and 2 1/2" deep framed. Elliott is known for painting Egrets and Eagles while his hunt scenes are rare and desirable. M.P. Elliott was born in Seoul, Korea in 1948. In 1967 he graduated from the Su-la-bul University of Art and during his life he has been awarded some of the following: In 1982 the main prize for Choungang Grand Exhibition, in 1985 he was invited for the Korean, China and Japan Exchange Exhibition in Seoul, Korea, in 1987 he was invited for the Modern Art Exhibition in Seoul, Korea, in 1990 he displayed his works for the Korean Still Life Exhibition, in 1991 he was invited for the Exhibition at the National Seoul Art Fair, in 2000 he was Selected for the Four Artist Exhibition in Seoul, Korea.
