Description: This is a vintage, natural brown bobbed hair edition of the modern Japanese "Okappa Haircut" KOKESHI doll entitled "Rei-Shun" ("Spring Splendor"), dressed in a kimono with red and white plum blossom patterns on it. It was originally designed by famed kokeshi craftsmen/artists Usaburo Okamoto (1917-2009) and his son Yuji Okamoto, made by and at their studio Usaburo Kokeshi. Usaburo Kokeshi is a leading brand in the "creative kokeshi dolls" category, founded by the famed craftsman Usaburo Okamoto (1917-2009) and now headed by his son Yuji Okamoto (1948-), also known as Usaburo II.
