Description: Outstanding 1969 realist acrylic on board, "Way Inside," by listed Maine artist Jon Legere (1944-1996). Legere studied at the Portland School of Art in Maine and the Art Students in New York. Living and working in Maine, Legere exhibited widely during his career. A number of his paintings were reproduced by the New York Graphic Society (as this one was) in the 1970s. This painting was exhibited at The Country Gallery on Long Island in 1969 (label attached) and was reproduced by the New York Graphic Society in 1970. This acrylic on board is signed lower left, measures 17.5" x 24" (painting size), and is in good condition. In a nice vintage frame. Please see my other auctions for more fine paintings and prints.
