Recorded substantially in Virginia & North Carolina, this is his best-realized project. The title track rocks with his vocals front & center, "They'll be dancing in the square with freak shows everywhere." "Bottom of the Ocean" starts another dense rock tune with layered electric guitars plodding drone-like and weaves a pop tune, "Seven days out the heat got hot; our sails were lost & we forgot to cast those ghosts aside." "Lazarus Touch" is a classic Kyle Davis tune with a throbbing rhythm guitar and some harmonies reminiscent of the Hollies, "It's a maze & I won't go back; It took so long to get out the first time." "Revolution" is another tight pop tune with Davis' tight rhyming lyrics, "It's no revolution just because you're choosing faith to bring the big wall down." "James" has a serious lyric that crosscuts with the catchy tune, "You're squeezing the trigger real slow; You're killing more than time cause it's poor man suicide." This set opens with a toe tapping tune "Angel Falls" and closes with the contemplative ballad, "Long Road Home." This is a good set from a singer who is unfortunately flying below most people's musical radar. Enjoy! Reviewed in the United States on May 15, 2001 Don't Tell The World by Kyle Davis is a 10 song compilation of original music that will not leave the listener new to his style disappointed. It is rare to find a CD where most of the songs are well crafted and not subject to the skip button. Don't Tell The World is reminiscent of the comtemporary Wallflower sound and on the tracks "The Botom of The Ocean" and "James", the lyrics are expertly woven into lush melodies that take you back to Genesis in their prime. This CD will be an excellent companion on a cruise in the country with a friend, great driving music. My only complaint is that there were not more tracks. Reviewed in the United States on June 29, 2004 I first bought Don't Tell The World from a recommendation online and immediately liked it. I just got Raising Heroes, his debut album, and I'm really loving that one too. I can't understand why this guy's not saturating the airwaves. His lyrics are far more honest and intelligent than 90% of the formulaic crap that makes up most of what every stinking mega-station plays... get a clue, all you Programming Directors, and stand up a be the person you dreamed you finally would be in this job!
