Description: ULTRA RARE PRIVATELY PRODUCED LP OF, THE LAZY RIVER JASS (sic) BAND. The musical style is said to be Dixieland Jazz, and all are amateur musicians with jobs otherwise mostly in the Federal Government, including lawyers, urban planners, and one in politics who wrote campaign speeches! NO COPIES FOUND ONLINE, MUCH LESS INFORMATION ON THE GROUP ITSELF OR THE RECORD LABEL. It was prduced by Up The River Records of Bethesda, MD. There is no date of prodution, but I'll guess 1970s or 80s. The LP was recorded Live at the Pub III on the University of Maryland Campus. Please see listing photos for more information on the group and the music. THE BACK SHOWS SEVEN INSCRIPTIONS AND SIGNATURES. I can identify 5 signatures as those of band members Ralph Burr, Pat Carpentier, Tony Caporale, Ed Robbins, and Renfrew DePugh. The other two band members are W.B. "Tuba" Todd and Fraser Battey. The other two signatures may be of stand-in performers for the particular performance. One signature looks like a Howell... (P starts the last name), Phil.. (last name unclear). AN INTERESTING COLLECTIBLE! The jacket has light edge and corner wear, but no splits or marks. The LP was stored in a plain white inner sleeve, LOOKS QUITE PLAYABLE with a light scratch or scuff over clean vinyl, will grade VG++. ER3
