Description: Meccano Constructor Car No 1 original in this format complete, first introduced May 1933 to compliment the first constructor car but at a smaller scale so parts were not interrchangable. This was called the No 1 kit while the original, introduced in September 1932 was given the designation of No. 2. The rarity of surviving examples of either of these models and parts confirms that not many were produced. The evidense that supports this thery is how the marketing continually reduced the prices obviously to attract interest. No1 set was withdrawn in 1940, No. 2 set in 1941, and not reintroduced post war.
