Description: Mervyns California Missions Series Vintage La Purisima NO CROSS History: Mission La Purisima, named for "The Immaculate conception of Mary the Most Pure," was established on December 8th 1787. Eleventh of the 21 California Missions, La Purisima was built under the direction of Father Fermin Lasuen. Located in a fertile valley, Mission La Purisima owes much of its prosperity to Father Mariano Payeras. During four of his 19 years at the Mission, Father Payeras served as Father-President of the California Missions, making La Purisima his headquarters. Pre-owned, the cross is missing and the box has some wear. There is a small chip visible when you look at the bottom. The replacement light cord has an in-line on/off switch.
