Description: 8 1/4" wide by 11" tall AUTOGRAPHED / HAND-SIGNED 1970-80s Era Sports Illustrated magazine ad photo (Page out of an SI Magazine) that has been signed by legendary ABA All-star & NBA Hall of Famer Rick Barry-Large signature is signed in blue ink on the ad for Adidas "Top Ten" basketball shoes featuring a great photo of Barry as a Houston Rocket (He played there from 1978 to 1980 so that helps date it) titled "Rick Barry, Inventor". Signature was obtained IN PERSON at the 50th ABA reunion at Hinkle Fieldhouse in Indianapolis at the show a few years ago. VERY COOL. Has some edge wear, but the signature is bold & clear and would frame up so nicely for display. What a great vintage item with a 100% authentic signature! Here's some info on Barry: Richard Francis Dennis Barry III (born March 28, 1944) is an American retired professional basketball player who played in both the American Basketball Association (ABA) and National Basketball Association (NBA). Named one of the 50 Greatest Players in history by the NBA in 1996, Barry is the only player to lead the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), ABA, and NBA in scoring for an individual season. He was known for his unorthodox but effective underhand free throw shooting technique, and at the time of his retirement in 1980 his .900 free throw percentage ranked first in NBA history. In 1987, Barry was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame. He is the father of former NBA players Brent Barry, Jon Barry, and Drew Barry and current professional player Canyon Barry. What a great vintage item with a 100% authentic signature!
