Her expression wonderfully depicts both astonishment and a slight sense of panic. In the background to the left 2 women – possibly her mother and older sister – are watching as the scene unfolds. The painting is signed “LP”, but I cannot find a match in my art books. It is dated on the back of the frame to 1927. Signed: Monogram: “LP”. SIZE: With frame: 47 cm/18.5" * 39 cm/15.4". Without frame: 35 cm/13.8" * 27 cm/10.6". CONDITION: The painting is in great ready-to-hang condition - no holes, tears or missing paint. The frame has scratches and stains.
