Description: For your consideration is this large, hand made, what I believe to be antique Native American basket. It measures 10" tall and 16 1/2" in diameter at the top and about 10" in diameter at the bottom. This is an estate fresh piece to me but I was unable to obtain any information as to it's origin, tribal affiliation or artisan. It features leather binding at the top and bottom edges and 5 repetitive diamond shaped decorative panels that I believe are also pieces of leather incorporated into the weaving. The leather binding does show wear and losses. There are some areas of minor wear and loss to the weaving but nothing out of the ordinary. Overall it remains solid, tight and sturdy.
