The intricate details on the boxes feature Griffins and other architectural elements that are sure to catch the eye of anyone who sees them. Made from high-quality bronze, these window boxes are both durable and beautiful. The boxes are perfect for use as a decorative accent in any room, and their size and design make them a great addition to any home. Whether you're an antique collector or just someone looking for a unique piece of decor, these window boxes are sure to impress. I believe these were off an old house, possibly built in the 1800s and these would have been either underneath the window holding plants or above the windows or doorways as a canopy. I can only guess here considering the way that it mounts and appears as though it may have been placed above or below, a door or window opening. I could be wrong in these could be more modern however, I’ve been unable to find anything like them. I know that griffins were something that were big in the 1800s so I’m only speculating here. The way these are made is incredible. I believe that solid bronze rods run the length and act as the main structure and then the cross supports are meticulously placed in such a way that makes me believe these were made by a fine craftsman. I have looked everywhere for markings and they just doesn’t seem to be any. They are in very good condition and are in the original shape and form. They do have a fair amount of corrosion and tarnish buildup on the exterior. With that said, it’s possible these are copper rather than bronze, but I don’t know how to tell.
