Description: This 2019 Pittsburgh Pirates "Steve Blass Day" game-used baseball is to commemorate former player/broadcaster Steve Blass' 60-year association with the team. The Steve Blass "60" logo was also on the Pirates' outfield wall throughout the 2019 season. The Pirates' honoring of Blass coincided with it being declared "Steve Blass Day" in the City of Pittsburgh and the State of Pennsylvania. One game-commemorative baseballs like these are particularly collectible. Blass played his entire MLB career as a pitcher for the Pirates from 1964 to 1974. As a player, he is perhaps best remembered for his two complete-game victories in the 1971 World Series win over the Baltimore Orioles. He went on to be a beloved broadcaster for the Pirates from 1983 to 2019. This game-used baseball has been authenticated by Major League Baseball. The MLB Authentication information is shown with the photos. NOTE: As shown in the close-up of the authentication hologram, it has a tiny blemish in the top left where some of the silver coloring is missing. This is common with these holograms that are put on in the field. This baseball comes in a clear plastic display cube labeled by Pirates Authentics. The baseball will be shipped via Priority Mail.
