RARE 1987-89! Casio DW-5600C 691 JAPAN A Screwback NEW BATTERY/BEZEL!

Description: JAPAN SUPER RARE "A" CIRCA 1987! We are grading this baby a solid B- since the crystal is mostly clean (light scratch or two - we see a light scratch at the 1 o'clock position). We've done a bit of work on this one... the installed battery is the correct one for this model, CR2320, plus we replaced the rubber seal on the unit w/ a Casio original. Additionally, we adapted the bezel from a Casio DW5600 E1 original. The band is BRAND NEW with the original Casio buckle (silver/Japan). We cleaned the unit internally and externally... you'll have a solid watch for sure! All buttons work perfectly (including the light). A bit of nostalgia: The DW-5600 was introduced in June 1987 and became the first G-Shock to be distributed in more than two model versions. Previous G-Shocks such as the DW-5000, WW-5100, DW-5200 and DW-5400 were released in a ‘silver’ and ‘gold’ variety (the WW-5300 and DW-5500 each exist only in the ‘silver’) but the screwback DW-5600 had nine different model versions between 1987 and 1992. At the time of the DW-5600’s introduction in 1987, the G-Shock line was only four years old and had not yet become the home-run for Casio that it would later be. With the 5600, Casio used the same formula they had with other models: steel case, resin bezel and band, and different dial. The DW-5600 saw a new module (the 691, later – in 1990 – the 901). The DW-5600 was the first G-Shock to use Philips head screws in the bezel and was the first G-Shock model to be made in colors other than standard black.We pride ourselves in taking high quality pictures with ample lighting to reveal every flaw (if any).
