RARE AUSTRALIAN ANTIQUE 15CT ROSE GOLD WEDDING BAND WEDDER RING C.1880

Description: ANTIQUE 15CT ROSE GOLD WEDDER Rare antique 15ct rose gold wedding band or ‘wedder’. Clearly stamped inside: 15ct and markers mark: S.H.C. Have found a few other items on internet stamped SHC and were sold as early Australian maker but I don’t know who it is. 15ct gold stopped being used in 1932 so this ring cannot be later than that but I think it is from well before 1900 - c.1880 perhaps. It is a wide, very slightly domed band that gradually tapers in width from one side to the other which should be evident in 1 of 2 of the photos. Not a big difference in width but enough to make it more comfortable to wear with the narrower side under the finger. CONDITION In very good antique/vintage condition with a few signs of age and use. Good patina with lots of very fine surface marks that a jeweller can buff out if required. Still almost perfectly round. The porcelain hand in the photos is not life size – more like 2/3 the scale of a woman’s hand. Any boxes or display stands in photos are not included in the listing unless specifically stated.
