RARE PENTAX AP CAMERA (ORIGINAL PENTAX) with 58mm f/2 TAKUMAR - EXC CONDITION

Description: Another rare collector's piece from the Asahi Optical Company of Japan: The original M42 Mount Pentax SLR, the "AP" succeeded Asahi's prior model, the Asahiflex M37 mount SLRs. Less than 14,000 AP bodies were produced during their production run between May 1957 and March 1958. In the U.S., these were marketed and sold by Sears under the "TOWER 26" model name. The current example is in excellent condition and works perfectly. All shutter speeds sound correct, including the slow speeds. This is an excellent piece for a display in a collection. The photographs say it all. This is a rare camera in optimal collector's condition. Comes with 58mm f/2 Takumar lens in superb condition. No fungus or cloudiness.The original ER case is missing a connecting flap. Superb collectible camera in great condition.
