Description: Offered here is this huge and rare antique Tiffany & Co. hunter case pocket watch. It is cased is .935 sterling silver, hallmarked, and is 4X signed - twice inside the case, once on the movement, and once on the dial. This watch was purchased from a local estate and was said to have been overhauled once in recent years, but I have no physical record of this. It is, however, running well and keeping accurate time (checked over a period of a few hours). The stem winds very smoothly and the hands set smoothly as well via lever. While the outside of the case shows a heavy patina all around, it is not inscribed. The dust cover inside has a fine inscription that reads “February 22nd 1890” and a rather sloppy inscription around it of the name “Arthur Floyd”. There were also three initials above the date that were polished over, unfortunately not in the cleanest manner. Regarding the dial, it is quite clean for a watch of this age, and the crystal is new. The case features a coin edge and is unusually large, measuring 56.4mm in diameter not counting the pendant (see last photo). Please note that while the front cover opens and closes securely, the hinge is a bit weak so it does not “spring” open. The movement measures approximately 42.5mm in diameter. Please view all twelve photos, feel free to ask any questions, and be sure to check out my other items!
