Description: Very hard to find original 3 button footswitch pedal from Vox Ampliphonic Orbiter music stand amp! Auction is for a somewhat rare and hard to find black 3 button footswitch from the unsuccessful line of Ampliphonic music stand amps Vox produced in 1967 to amplify woodwind and brass instruments. Additional information about this amp series is available on the Vox Showroom website. This pedal is likely from the top-of-the-line Vox Orbiter amp model which originally had a short cable and Switchcraft 6 pin DIN to connect to the corresponding rear panel jack. The pedal in this auction was rewired with gray wire (plug end cut off) and the apparent addition of a 9V battery clip. But a piece of the original black wire still remains. As a result, I was unable to test but all original components appear to be present and in very nice condition. The bottom of the footswitch plate is missing one foot. This could be returned back to stock by adding a Switchcraft 12BL6M DIN widely available for under $10. It could also be modified for use with other Vox solid state amps that use a 3-button pedal such as the Cambridge Reverb, Berkeley, Royal Guardsman V1132, and Beatle V1142. The Vox Showroom now offers free Vox amp schematic downloads that include a wiring diagram for the amp pedal. However, a connection to a 28V DC supply is needed to operate the indicator lamps which some of the foregoing models may lack. The S on this pedal stands for solo boost according to the owner's manual for the Vox Orbiter also available on the Vox Showroom site. Economy shipping in the continental U.S. is included in the auction price.
