This badge is BEAUTIFULLY MADE! In Solid Brass with Gilt finish and high quality “hot baked” Enamels. Measures 48 mm in height, 27 mm in width. Two-piece construction: the state emblem is a separate superimposed part. The reverse of the badge has raised logo ЛМД (“LMD”) which stands for “Leningrad Mint”. The quality is really superb, typical of the Soviet Mint production.The badge is in great condition. The gilt finish on the state emblem, edges and reverse of the badge is bright, free of tarnish or verdigris - practically pristine. The enamel shows some miniscule surface flakes as well as some tiny manufacturing imperfections (our photos show an example, but all are in equally nice condition.) The screw post is full length, about 9 mm measured from the reverse of the badge, and includes screw plate marked "Leningrad Monetnyi Dvor (Mint)" which is original to the badge.
