We love this model of a Steinway & Sons upright - the 54" model F upright was only made for a relatively short period of time. We love the aesthetic style of the model F, and we are excited to have completed the restoration of this unique piano. At 54" tall, this model is impressive, and our restoration has returned this piano to all its original glory. This was one of the final 54" tall uprights as Steinway moved from 54" uprights down to the 52" Steinway K. Picarzo Pianos completes a full Level 7 (highest level) restorations of these classic Steinway upright pianos with the goal of each piano lasting another 100 years, in order to become an heirloom for the next family's successive generations. Most upright restorations you see of these unique pianos do not include new soundboards, new pinblocks, new actions, etc. because the cost becomes prohibitive to the restorer/dealer. We think there is a demand for the antique models restored correctly, which haven't been manufactured for over 100 years, and to be made completely new again, which is what we at Picarzo Pianos are now doing. This model F is basically brand new again now that restoration has been completed with all new musical components, including new soundboard, new pinblock, new action, and new polyester transparent high gloss finish. We find the old Steinway upright models to be much more appealing than the current model K's because of this additional eye-catching craftsmanship, with tasteful molding throughout the exterior. This model has not been manufactured in over a 100 years.
