Description: Our 2.5" v-band purge caps can be used on all 2.5" v-band flanges. Not only are they a simple back purging solution,they also act as a heat sink. They pull heat from the V-band flange, eliminating warping of the flange, so they stay nice and flat. We also now have added a diffuser to the inside of the Purge Cap, to distributethe argon more evenly through the tube/pipe. You can see in the pictures, smoke testing with and without a diffuser. Its smooths out the argon flow and spreads it evenly exactly where you need it.A diffuser is a must for V-band welding. The Internal Diffuser now comes standard on all of our V-band Purge Caps. These 2.5" V-band Purge Caps can be used for exhaust systems, intercooler pipes, or any other tube/pipe you are fabricating that's withhas a 2.5" v-band flange.
