From the Internet: “Sunapee Cruises was founded in the 1950’s by a group of local businessmen. The first boat in the fleet was the wooden hulled MV Mt. Sunapee I, which was a rum runner off the coast of Maine before being sunk by the Coast Guard and then used as a sub-searcher off the coast of Martha’s Vineyard during World War II. In 1960, the business was purchased by John and Evelyn McGrath. The MV Mt. Sunapee II was constructed and launched in 1966. She is a steel-hull boat and still cruises the waters of the lake. In 1970, the McGraths built and added a dinner boat, the Sunapee Belle as a 2nd cruising option.
